Hi! I am a 56 year old wife/mother, grandmother with female pattern baldness in the front and center of my head. Eleven months ago, I was looking at vacation pictures, and realized that my scalp was beaming out, and I needed to face the fact that I am going bald. My sister who is 7 years older has been wearing a full wig for a couple of years, and my grandmother was completely bald by age 60, so the writing was on the wall. I think the hardest part was accepting that I will be wearing "helper" hair for the rest of my life. I purchased my first topper in October 2017, and overall it has been a boost to my self-esteem. I have been pretty open with people about the fact that I wear a topper, and they are generally surprised by how natural it looks. I am always looking for more information, so I am glad to find this forum.
